On May 4, a SUP rowing marathon will be held in Latvia for the first time, which, due to its content and form, will be a unique event not only in Latvia, but even in Northern Europe. The start of "SUP King Marathon - Salaca 100" will be given early in the morning of May 4 in Vecate - the place where Salaca River outfalls from Lake Burtnieks. The rowing route will take you along the Salaca River all the way to its mouth in the Baltic Sea. Participants will have to cover the 100 km distance within 24 hours.
Marathon participants will be provided with support throughout the event. On the banks of the river in every 20-30 km there will be a resting places provided by the organizers, where the participants can take a breathe, charge their phones, replenish their supplies of drinking water and get other necessary help and support. Participants will also be provided with transportation between the start and finish locations of the event, as well as the opportunity to withdraw during the distance if for some reason it is not possible to complete the distance.
